The Ausangate (6398m / 20991f) is by many
considered as one of the most beautiful mountains of the Andes.
The 6 hours in the bus from Cusco to Tinqui,
is an excellent preparation, not only for the landscape, but also the change of
temperature and altitudes, we will get closer and closer to the stars...
Ausangate will leave you out of breath because of the colorful scenery between
the mountains, glaciers, lagoons, rivers etc.... it will be a total enigmatic
mystery.
The hospitality of the Andean people has been constant
throughout the years and new generations preserve the respect for nature and
towards the mountains because it is important in the life of the Andean farmer.
The farmers have developed large knowledge in raising their cattle, such as the
vicuña, alpaca and lama; they are appreciated in the whole world for their
kindness and their fine quality of wool, meat (low percentage of cholesterol),
and for the farmer's own transport.
The Ausangate trek is absolutely for people who love
adventure, nature, fresh air and mountain walking... The best way to meet the
lords of the mountains ´Apus´.
