Amazing hike, unbelievable views, great guideWe booked the short inca trail trek followed by a machu picchu tour the following morning. Our guide, Franklin, reached out to us the day before the hike to ensure we were well prepared for the adventure and explained the itinerary thoroughly. We started by taking the train from Ollantaytambo - Franklin collected us from the hotel and handled all of our tickets and entries throughout which made the experience more relaxing and stress free. The train ride was brilliant with panoramic views of the Andes and a comfortable service from the train staff providing free water and other paid drinks if desired. After arriving at our stop, the pace was comfortable and we had time to use the bathroom, apply sunscreen and insect repellent before setting off on the hike. The hike itself was fantastic, it wasnt too challenging and Franklin was checking on us regularly to make sure everything was okay. He also explained a lot of the history on route to the Sun Gate which was really interesting. We stopped to eat the provided box lunch which was tasty and more than enough food for the day trip. After completing the hike and seeing all the spectacular views of machu picchu we boarded the bus to aguas calientes where we had an evening meal (provided) to celebrate. Again this was tasty and good value (2 courses). The following morning we went into the citadel itself and had a very informative tour from Franklin. Steady paced and not too long or short, felt just right to take in the magic of the place. After this we went for lunch (not provided) and made the journey back to cusco by train and transfer. Again, Franklin handled all the ticket admin etc and made things very simple. Just want to thank Franklin for making the visit so special for us. It was a very relaxed and breathtaking tour which surpassed all of our expectations. He knew all the best spots to get great photos and memories, and was very good at navigating what can be quite a crowded place. It could not have been any better for us and we are already thinking about our next trip to the area and Peru. Thanks again Tupananchiskama! Phil

A Brilliant Adventure - Thank you Rossi!!This trek was the highlight of our holiday! Our guide, Rossi, really made this such an amazing experience. Rossi was very attentative, ensuring the welfare of our group throughout the hike; she even went out of her way to help a group of hikers who had become seperated from a different tour company. We are grateful for her expertise and the time that Rossi took to teach us her rich culture (on the trail and at Machu Picchu) allowing us to share some customes and immerse ourselves in as much of this wonderful country as we could. Speaking excellent English and French, Rossi was brilliant at translating between differnent people in our diverse group, enhancing our overall experience. The food was excellent throughout the hike, you will not go hungry on this trip! The Chef done a great job for catering for dietary requirements while we were hiking. The route is really manageable. Making sure your comfortable hill walking for consecutive days is a must. Your main baggage is transported for you, so you'll only ever be carrying a day-bag during the trek.

Salkantay 4 daysGreat trek towards Machu Picchu. Truly wonderful experience sleeping in clean domes, eating traditional food and climbing up the Salkantay. Great for people wanting amazing views, while the hike itself is quite easy for mid-experienced hikers. Guides Carlos and Joel Huillca were great!

Salkantay Trek, 4 days, with Xtreme Tourbulencia — departed 17 August 2026A demanding, stunning trek, and an agency that rose to the conditions. The weather didn't spare us. It rained for the first two days, and on the second, at the Salkantay pass at 4,630 metres, there was heavy snow and a biting cold. Landslides forced the team to adapt the route on the third day, which they did without hesitation, clearly putting our safety first. On the logistics side, nothing to fault. A support team of six accompanied us — two cooks, two muleteers and two guides. The food was consistently incredible, with genuine vegetarian options. The duffel bags provided, up to six kilos carried by the mules, really change your life over four days. The first two nights are spent in igloo tents with no heating, so drying your gear is impossible, but a fire was organised on the second evening, which helped a lot. The third night is a proper hotel, with heating. Some tips: with that humidity, plastic bags are worth their weight in gold — to keep your gear dry in your pack, and even your feet dry in your boots. Also keep small change in your pockets, as access to toilets on the way costs 1-2 sols. The guides made the experience. Even in a group of twelve, they took the time to answer every question and explain things properly, which made it feel personal rather than mass-produced. They also introduced us to coffee — how it's harvested and prepared — and we roasted it by hand before tasting it. A genuine highlight. We got lucky on days three and four: the sky cleared and we had full sunshine for Machu Picchu. The timing was well handled, with an early morning slot that let us enjoy the site and then walk back down at our own pace before catching the train at Aguas Calientes. The service extended beyond the trail, too. They picked us up on arrival in Cusco, and when the minibus didn't serve our hotel directly (due to narrow streets), they arranged a taxi so we could get there properly. In the end, and whatever the conditions throw at you, the trek is absolutely worth it. Four days of effort before reaching Machu Picchu give the arrival a meaning that no bus or train could ever provide — you truly feel you've earned it. A special thank you to Juan, our guide, who handled a difficult situation and led us through it brilliantly, and to the whole agency, who took great care of us throughout.

Es una de las mejores experiencias que he tenido en mi vida y el guía que nos llevó es el mejor, hizo que lográramos alcanzar la llegada a Machu Picchu y vivir la llegada a La Puerta del Sol, no solo es un guía sino un motivador, gracias a él vivimos de la mejor manera el camino. La vivencia del campamento es espectacular, la comida, las atenciones después de un largo día, hace que una pueda disfrutar de la hospitalidad y descanso , gracias al equipo que nos atendieron en campamento.
